Day 4 of 7: What does it cost to eat?

Sorry that I had to skip a day in my experiment. Yesterday was thrown off by me eating a half dinner at my friend Heather's house while I baby-sat their kids, and then eating the other half of dinner at home, which Rob cooked. So I figured it would be best to just skip yesterday completely for my food cost experiment.

Here is today's food menu:

Breakfast:
1 banana
1 fuji apple
1 yogurt
1 Krispy Kreme pumpkin spice donut
1 cup of Orange Juice

Lunch:
1 slice of homemade bread
2 Tbsp peanut butter
2 Tbsp red raspberry jam
half of a box of Macaroni & Cheese
2 Tbsp butter
1 cup Almond milk

Dinner:
1 Hamburger bun
0.25 pound ground beef
0.25 onion
0.25 of a Ranch dressing seasoning packet
0.25 cup saltine crackers, crushed
0.25 egg
1 slice of cheese
lettuce
1 slice of tomato
1/3 cup leftover mixed veggies

Snack/dessert:
1 cup no-sugar-added Blue Bunny ice cream

Here's the cost breakdown per meal:

Breakfast = $1.92
Lunch = $1.28
Dinner = $2.49
Snack = 49 cents

Grand total for today's food: $6.18 (my second cheapest day of eating so far)

Tomorrow should be "cheap" also, like today was.
