Today was a good food day. I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 meals I had. Yay, new cereal!
Breakfast:
1.5 servings of Frosted Mini-Wheats "Little Bites" (76 squares - yes, I counted each one as I dropped them in my bowl)
1.25 cups almond milk
1 Light and Fit yogurt
1 cup calcium-enriched Orange Juice
"Leftover" Lunch:
1 Lo-carb tortilla
leftover refried beans, 3/4 cup
leftover canned corn, 3/4 cup
leftover rice, 1/2 cup
1/2 cup cheese
1 Fuji Apple
1 cup calcium-enriched Orange Juice
Dinner:
1/4 pound ground turkey
1/5 of a packet of Low-Sodium taco seasoning
1/4 white onion
1/4 green bell pepper
1/4 tomato
1/2 avocado
1/3 of can of refried beans
1 leaf of green leaf lettuce
1/4 cup of shredded cheese
1 Lo-carb tortilla
1 cup Almond Milk
(I was making "Turkey Taco Roll-ups" - very yummy, by the way!)
Ingredients laid out all pretty:

And, finally, the finished Turkey Taco Roll-up:
Snack:
1 sugar-free chocolate pudding cup
On an unrelated to food cost note, the next time I make this dinner, I'm going to skip the Lo-Carb tortilla and just use a regular, full-carb, BIG, burrito size flour tortilla. The consistency of the Lo-Carb tortillas is good, but not for a recipe that calls for rolling. Rob tried talking me into deep frying these roll-ups, and while that sounds enticing, I decided to keep it simple and healthy!
Okay, today was cheaper than yesterday:
Breakfast = $1.56
Lunch = $2.26
Dinner = $3.16
Snack = 25 cents
For a grand total of $7.23
If I average all 3 days, I get $7.58. So today was 53 cents cheaper than my average daily cost. To me, this average cost seems high. Let's hope some of my next meals this week are cheaper.
Are any of my posts making you guys hungry?
